Get Involved

Why is involvement important?

Spiritual community is not a spectator sport. While attending worship services is important, we're called to so much more as Christians. At First Blairsville, we believe that being involved in close spiritual community is a crucial component to being a healthy Christian. Getting involved at First Blairsville is as easy as taking a next step. Whether you haven't chosen to follow Christ yet or have been a follower for most of your life, there's always a "next step" in our spiritual life. We've identified 4 key areas from scripture: Worship, Serve, Grow, Go. Below we have some details of how you can get involved in each area. We'd love to hear what next step you feel is right for where you are in life!

Worship

As believers, we're created to worship and glorify God in everything we do. Worship can take many forms including corporate worship with fellow believers, our public profession of salvation through baptism, worship through giving back a portion of what God has blessed us with, using our talents to lead our brothers and sisters in worship, and more. You can find out more of what worship means at First Blairsville by going to our Worship page below.

Serve

Jesus is the ultimate example of how to live with a servant's heart, as He came to serve those he encountered, not to be served. All of our serve teams at First Blairsville have the same mission in mind of serving others to help all people find and follow Jesus together. We have several teams to choose from to help each individual discover their God-given purpose, find significance in serving God and serving others, and experience community. If you're interested in finding your place to serve, visit our Serve page below.

Grow

Diving into God's word in scripture is one of the main ways we grow closer to God and become spiritually mature Christians. We want to have groups that can help you find a place that connects to where you are in life. We have ministries that deliver the gospel in a format for kids and students, ministries that offer hope and help during times where life has taken a turn you were not expecting, groups for you to develop deeper relationships with fellow believers in similar life stages, and classes that dive into what scripture says around specific topics. We would love for you to take a next step towards growing as a follower of Christ by getting involved in any of the groups within our Ministries page.

Go

One of Jesus's final commands on Earth was what's now called the Great Commission: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." Going to "make disciples of all nations" is a broad statement that involves so many opportunities to fulfill God's command. At First Blairsville, we follow that command by being involved in local outreach opportunities, commissioning members to take the Gospel locally, nationally, and worldwide, as well as supporting missionaries that are working to expand God's Kingdom. To find out what next step you could take in answering Jesus's commission, check out the various outreach and mission opportunities we have on our Missions page.

What's Your Next Step?

Want to talk about salvation or baptism? Interested in joining a serve team, but aren't quite sure which is the right fit? Ready to grow deeper in your relationship with Christ and fellow believers? Or are you feeling called to go out and make disciples through outreach or missions? Whatever step you're ready to take, we're ready to hear from you! You can either fill out the forms within each area, visit our church office during the week, or talk to a minister on Sunday mornings, and we'll help you on your journey.
