They are both Trauma Healing facilitators leading healing groups in their community and coordinating and facilitating US based training events. Michael also travels internationally to conduct Trauma Healing training sessions. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Chaplain team, ministering to our missionaries worldwide.
Current Prayer Letter
Dearest friends and family,
We greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus, may His grace, mercy, and peace be with you. Over the past few months many changes have taken place in our lives and ministries. While these changes were all planned well in advance, we know that not everyone was able to stay up to date regarding our plans, so we’re happy to catch you up.
We continue to serve with SIM, the same organization that we served with in Loja, Ecuador for the past four years. We have returned to the US and are now living in Charlotte, North Carolina. We are working at the SIM USA and International headquarters, both located in the area.
We’ve spent much of the past year with one hand in our ministries in Ecuador and the other in our new roles here in Charlotte. We were blessed with the ability to gradually transition into our new roles. Upon our arrival in Charlotte, Michael took on the position of US Security Director for SIM USA. He is in charge of training new and existing missionaries in safety/security, preparing them to face the increasing levels of global risk as they serve abroad. He is also responsible for the physical security for our US campus. We both continue to work in the Trauma Healing ministry that we’ve been a part of since 2016. Kelly serves as the administrative assistant for SIM International Trauma Healing and Michael will be training new facilitators both in the US and abroad, while both lead healing groups locally. Michael has recently completed a chaplaincy course and is serving as a member of our international chaplain team, providing pastoral care to our missionaries worldwide. We will continue to serve in this location and in these roles until God leads us elsewhere. We hope to someday return to Loja, but we continue to trust in the Lord to reveal His will in our lives.
While our geographical location and specific roles have changed, our status as active, support-based missionaries have not. God has faithfully provided a team of financial partners during the past 6 years since we first began this journey, and we trust that He will continue to do so. During the past several months, several partners have had to reduce or stop their financial gifts. Additionally, our monthly support requirement has increased due to the higher cost of living in the United States as compared to Ecuador. This combination has left us underfunded, with a substantial shortfall in our support fulfillment.
We ask you to prayerfully consider how you may be able to help meet this financial need. Monthly or one-time gifts of any amount will help to meet our needs. We look forward to seeing how God will move mountains and bring in many of our dear friends as a part of our financial support team.
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19
We would like to say thank you for your encouragement, gifts, and especially your prayers over the past few years. Words will never be enough to express how much you and your partnership in ministry mean to us. If you have any praise reports or prayer requests, please give us a call or drop us a line. Also, if you’re willing, we would love for you to send us a photo of you/your family to put on our prayer wall.
May God bless you and keep you always,
Kelly & Michael Reeves
PRAISES:
We are so grateful for God providing us a home to rent as we look for a place to plant roots more permanently here. Also, by using people like you, He has provided many of our furniture needs. We are also incredibly blessed to be joining such a wonderful community of missionaries here.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
We are still seeking a permanent church home here in the area. We are also praying for God’s guidance in when to purchase a home, and that He’ll lead us to the right home for our family. Please pray for our family’s continued transition here back in the states and for God’s guidance for Aaric and Mikayla’s plans for the future.
NEEDS:
As of right now, we need to raise an additional $2,000 monthly to be funded. We are also praying for the provision of 2 vehicles for our teens for transportation for work and eventually school.
